Crawford Bay Hall Board News - March 2026

I am grateful to be able to say that since my last writing to you we have received almost $8000 towards our Hall Restoration, Rejuvenation, Preservation Project! Huge thanks to The Synergy Group of Canada, local supporters and term deposit interest. Additionally, with support from the Clean BC Communities Fund, The Columbia Basin Trust, The Regional District of Central Kootenay, the Nelson & District Credit Union, Fortis BC, Can Russ Medical, Chris Choquette Logging, Kokanee Chalets, Crawford Bay RV Park, Newkey’s Pub, Black Salt Cafe, Dogpatch Pottery, North Woven Broom Co, Yasodhara Ashram, Forge & Furnace Gallery, Steel Wheels, Gray Creek Hall society, Gray Creek store, Riondel Historical Society, Kootenay Lake Lions Club, East Shore Youth Network, Crawford Bay Market, Home Hardware Creston, Pyramid Building Supplies Creston, Intact Insurance, YRB Kootenay Ltd. fundraisers, many local & former residents, families and friends from away; we are closer every day to our goal of starting the project this year. We have been working towards this goal for 6 years now. The Total estimated cost is $2,173,082. Yes, we have raised over $1.9 million to date!

We still need approximately $230,000 so If you see the value in Community halls as a gathering place and a venue for nurturing community life please consider donating to our project: e transfer donate@cbhall.ca OR please mail a cheque to: Hall Reno Fund, Box 71, Crawford Bay BC, V0B1E0. We have a website with photos and more info: www.cbhall.ca If you so choose your name will be prominently displayed on our donor wall in the new entryway. We can issue income tax receipts as we were recently granted charitable status.

As much as we love our phones for communication and information gathering, as a species we humans need to look each other in the eye and embrace on a regular basis. That is the beauty of community halls. Thank you for your attention. We look forward to seeing you at our next community hall event.
