Summer is winding down, children are returning to school, garden harvests are in full swing, forest animals are preparing for winter, and our Community Hall Restoration Project is closer every day to beginning. We are grateful to be able to share that the RDCK has come through for us yet again. Huge thanks to Director Garry Jackman and the Board for approving a Discretionary Grant and another Community Development Grant; $20,000 in total which allowed us to colour more red on the thermometer at the hall. We now need $110,250 more in order to have the money in place to begin construction. Thus far we have secured $2,062,832!!
If you are interested in honouring our fundraising efforts with a donation please e-Transfer to donate@cbhall.ca. We will issue an income tax receipt and add your name to the donor wall in the new entryway. Cheques made out to the Hall Reno Fund are also gratefully accepted. Please mail to Box 71 Crawford Bay V0B1E0.
Thanks again to all of you who are launching your boats in Kootenay Bay and then generously e-Transfering money to boat@cbhall.ca. These funds help us to maintain the dock and the launch. Cash dropped in the box at the boat launch is also much appreciated.
Many activities have been taking place in the Pavilion in the Community Park. Thanks to all of you who choose to celebrate special family moments in this venue. Your email to bookings@cbhall.ca will connect you to us and your event can be marked on the calendar.
Once again, I want to acknowledge Kurtis and Paula who have organized Sunday Markets at the park. They wouldn't be so enjoyable or successful without all of you who regularly attend and of course huge thanks to all of the vendors and musicians.
Lastly, a reminder that September 8 the two old pine trees in the park will start to come down. The park will be closed to the public during this time.
Happy Autumn, everyone.
